Biography
Dr Kumar is a Certified Energy Manager cum Auditor (Bureau of Energy Efficiency). He is a fellow and chartered engineer of the Institute of Engineers (India). He had developed an independent research center while working as the Coordinator of the Energy Elite Club. He has worked as a Principal Investigator on university- and BIS-funded research projects.
Dr Kumar has served as the Managing Guest Editor for the Special Issue on “Innovative Technologies for Micro-grid and Smart-grid Systems” in Computers and Electrical Engineering, an Elsevier Journal. Dr Kumar has also served as a reviewer for reputed journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IET Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Elsevier Electrical Power and Energy Systems, Computers and Electrical Engineering, Springer Electrical Engineering, IJITWE (IGI Global, USA), JCIT (IGI Global, USA), 12th IEEE INDICON-2015, and 12th IEEE INDICON-2018. He has published several papers/books/ book chapters in various journals/conferences of repute, including IEEE, IET, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, etc. He has served as a Session Chair for DELCON-2025. He has also received the Best Paper Award during the ICICS-2016 International Conference.
Dr Kumar is the editor of the book “Handbook of Research on Power and Energy System Optimization” with IGI Global, USA, and “Internet of Energy Handbook” with CRC Press, Taylor & Francis. He has delivered expert lectures on Energy Efficiency in Electrical Utilities at various institutions. His current areas of interest include: energy efficiency in electrical utilities, optimization in power system operation and planning, distributed generation, load management and energy auditing, computational intelligence, Micro-grid and smart-grid systems, Solar PV systems, Machine learning, and the Internet of Energy (IoE).
