Biography

Dr. Ravinder Agarwal is currently Professor in the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Department at Thapar University, Patiala. He did his Ph.D. at National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi in 1991. Dr. Agarwal has more than thirty years of research and teaching experience in the area of Biomedical Instrumentation. He has published more than 120 research papers in reviewed international journals of repute and more than 200 research publications in national and international conferences to his credit. In addition to these publications, he has six book chapters in Springer and Taylor & Francis, and four patents. He is a recipient of the Best Teachers Day Award (2010) from Lions Club Patiala and Dr. M. Pancholy Award (2017, 2022) from the Ultrasonic Society of India on Advances in Ultrasonic & Materials Research. Also, he is a recipient of a professional incentive scheme (PIS) many time.

Dr. Agarwal has completed seven research projects of the government of India funding agencies (DST, AICTE, ICMR, DRDO, DeitY, etc.) of th Rs 2.5 crore. Till now he has guided 19 Ph.D. and 33 M.E./M.Tech./M.D.S. candidates. About a dozen times he acted as a jury member in the poster session for the selection of the best paper award. Also, he visited abroad several times to present his research papers at conferences and chaired the sessions. Moreover, he has organized about 20 Short term courses/SDP/Tutorial Workshop/ Conference/ Meet in the country.

Dr. Agarwal is a Fellow Member of IETE, Institution of Engineers (I), Metrology Society of India, Ultrasonic Society of India, and a Life Member of the instrument Society of India.
